Get involved to ensure your rights in November!

THERE ARE 47 DAYS LEFT UNTIL ELECTION DAY. It is crucial that the LGBT community gets involved to ensure that fair minded candidates win in Ohio and Nationwide.

What can you do? You can make all the difference in the world.

• Find out more about the election at HRC's Year to Win campaign.
• See how the presidential candidates stand on our issues.
• Volunteer with the candidate of your choice! If you have an hour, an afternoon, a weekend, you can make change happen in Ohio. There are many opportunities to get involved individually or with other GLBT people. Email for detailed information. 
• October 4th: Volunteer at the AIDS Walk for HRC.
• Become a Poll Observer for all or part of Election Day.
• Attend a training with HRC Staff and experienced political campaigners.
• Join us at and meet new people at our debate parties!
  
• Contribute to the candidate of your choice
  
• VOTE!

Please get involved to ensure that your voice and the voice of all GLBT Americans is heard in November. Progress for our movement comes from our involvement with the candidates who will ultimately vote on our issues in the state house, in Washington, and in the White House.

Become a Poll Observer for election day- make sure every vote counts!

Cuyahoga County is a critical region for votes. In the past, Poll Observers have helped make Cuyahoga County elections run better.  When national correspondents show video clips of long lines in Ohio, they show pictures from Franklin County, from Kenyon College, but not from Cleveland.  This is in part because Observers have made a difference. Cuyahoga County is still the largest single source of lost votes due to pollworkers making mistakes or voters not knowing how to properly complete a provisional ballot.  We need to make sure that every legal vote counts.

Give Money
Supporting a candidate financially can be a very effective way to hold them accountable to your issues once they are elected and will show those you support that you are a truly engaged voter. You can give to many candidates and parties online, by mail, or over the phone. Simplly look up the candidate or party of your choice to go to their donation page.

You can also give directly to HRC endorsed candidates.
